Nicole Bohn

Though born in Bern, Switzerland, Nicole Bohn grew up living in France, Austria, Switzerland and the United States.

All her life, Nicole has been creating art as a creative outlet. After battling and surviving Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in her early twenties, Nicole resumed painting, cutting and pasting again when the first of her three daughters was born and has continued ever since. Nicole has an organized studio in her home, she still finds herself at the dining table surrounded by her girls in the natural light that fills her kitchen.

Initially influenced by a diverse group of artists and illustrators, including among them Albrecht Dürer, Käthe Kollwitz, Marc Chagall, Brian Kershisnik, Lucie Durbiano, Emilie Chollat and Delphine Durand, Nicole’s primary inspiration comes from her children. They embody bright colors, patterns, texture, energy and movement in the everyday. Nicole says, “Ask a six-year old to draw a bird, and she will create a bright, whimsical creature. I try to capture this in my artwork.”
