Victoria Johnson

Born in England, Victoria Johnson has been creating art since her childhood. Victoria’s parents were very enthusiastic about art and made sure she had a huge variety of media, including a complete set of oils and canvases, with which to develop her interest.

Victoria is inspired by a huge array of visual stimuli. Daily inspiration may come from a pair of socks at the GAP, vintage tablecloths and fabric, a friend’s living room or a mid-20th century painting. Victoria is particularly drawn to home décor and fashion, which she researches by visiting design blogs on the internet and reading through her huge collection of home décor and fashion magazines.

Having hand-painted professionally for years, creating everything from portraits to textile design, Victoria now translates her artistic discipline and knowledge of traditional painting into digital rendering. Instead of putting brush to paper, Victoria paints on-screen.

Using her Mac, Victoria feels the challenge and excitement of artistic exploration and discovery by continually seeking new ways to create texture, depth and contrast. She feels that with the infinite selection of beautiful colors she is able to reflect current color trends in her artwork.

Spending hours playing with composition, texture and color which she is able to change with a click of the mouse is almost as much fun as spending time with her four-year-old daughter and her photographer husband.
